Do not let this title deceive you!
Lexi came home from school the other day and told me they
had made donuts at school out of biscuits.
So we were at WalMart today and she grabbed a can of biscuits out of the
refrigerated section and said she “thought she could remember how to make
them”. This is not great considering I
am not a good cook.
So we start to make the donuts. Lexi is not quite sure how to make them, so I
figure I’ll look it up online. I find a
recipe that looks very easy and we start the process. I thought "this is going to be so cute and
easy so I’ll take some pics while I’m doing this for my blog".

There are 8 biscuits in the can, so we cooked 4 at a
time. Lexi made the holes in the middle
of the biscuits and I did the cooking with the hot oil. My husband laughed while I was burning the
first 4 and said make sure you take a picture of those ones! Which I did….
They tasted like uncooked burnt biscuits. Note the key word in the recipe was to cook on
high.
Thankfully we still had 4 donuts left to cook. I turned the heat way down to medium low and
they turned out much better. Lexi put the donuts in a brown bag and shook them in sugar and cinnamon. My kids ate
them and my husband said they “weren’t bad”.
Not too shabby since I hate don’t try stuff like this!
They didn’t turn out with the holes still in the middle
though since I smushed them down in the pan to make sure they were cooked
through. I actually remade the hole in
this one just for the picture above! Haha! I also dropped my iPhone on the plate after this so it was covered in sugar. The things I will do for my daughter....and my blog! :)

I go through stages where every recipe I try turns out bad. We have made the homemade donuts and I thought the icing was the hardest part. Hope the rest of the recipes are a success.
I love this post. So honest and funny:) I have heard of this recipe before but have not tried it. I know knew recipes can be difficult. Have a wonderful Christmas!
